The Wall

I had a grief wave today that seemed disproportionate to the trigger and then realized that’s how grief works most of the time. It’s not a sensible system. The trigger might be tiny. The wave isn’t. Because the trigger isn’t the content, it’s the key. It opens the vault and all the stored pressure comes out at once. So no, the old magnet or recipe or piece of handwriting isn’t the “real reason” I lost it. It just opened the door.
