I am deeply tired of being told I’m doing great. Maybe I am, by external metrics. The kids are alive. The house is standing. I haven’t vanished. Things generally happen when they need to happen. But “doing great” makes it sound like the internal cost is low enough to ignore. Try “barely but consistently operational.” That’s closer.
